POLYplatform™ GRP Rail Platforms

polydeck-logo.svg

  A Polydeck product

POLYplatform™ GRP Rail Platform Systems are a high wear resistant, anti slip surface that are offered in 3 solutions, a rigid finished overlay version for refurbishing tired platform surfaces and two structural overlay versions to address Passenger Train Interface (PTI) problems. One of these is a full platform overlay and the other a localised raised hump.

All versions have the proprietary GRIPfast™ finish, with a GRP substrate but unlike inferior rolled on anti slip surfaces, the GRIPfast™ contains a unique ‘near-diamond- hard’ aggregate (minimum 5mm thick) which is infused into the resin base. This provides a highly durable anti-slip surface which will last in areas of high footfall for many decades.

Non Structural: Suitable for use on tarmac and paved rail platforms where the existing platform surface is in need of refurbishment. Manufactured in the UK, from a unique structural composite core which combines superior strength and rigidity with lightness of weight for ease of installation.

Overlay Panels are available in standard thicknesses of 6mm, 9mm & 12mm to suit varying site conditions. Panels drastically reduce refurbishment time as they have the front white nosing, tactile strip and yellow warning line already incorporated into the panel. With 1000s of square meters already installed over many years on UK and international rail networks, these GRIPfast™ surfaced panels have a great proven track record.

Structural: Ideal where Passenger Train Interface issues exist, the POLYplatform structural products provide the means to quickly raise the height of a platform surface without the need to close the station as would be required using more lengthy and disruptive traditional methods.

Both structural products fully comply with the loading (5kn/m2), deflection (L/300) and fire retardant (minimum 20 minutes) requirements of Network Rail. Further technical information and testing are available in the resource area.

For full platform overlay, a complete GRP sub-structure is part of the product along with the fully adjustable and proprietary MOUNTbridge system to adjust the platform to its new height.

Where a more localised approach is required, the hump system is supplied with purpose designed and produced edging access ramps.
